It was a memorable night for nine members of Montini Catholic's Alumni Association and their families as they were honored for their dedication, achievement and service and inducted into the Montini Catholic Alumni Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony and dinner were held at the Lasallian high school's Field House on Friday, September 7th. Following the ceremony, the honorees joined Bronco fans at Duffy Memorial Stadium to watch the Broncos vs. (Marmion) Cadets game, where they were ushered onto the field during half time festivities for one last round of applause from Bronco fans.
The nine newest members join 126 fellow alumni whose names and photos adorn Montini Catholic's 'Wall of Fame.'
Inducted this year were:
Tara Chocol Joyce '86 - Inducted for her exceptional talent and accomplishments in her career as an actress in network and cable television and in film.
Nancy Kuster Economou '84 - (Downers Grove) Inducted for her exceptional commitment to service through philanthropic programs and community leadership as the founder and President of Watts for Love (in Downers Grove). She and the Watts for Love Team have won numerous awards for their
philanthropic efforts in countries throughout the world.
Garrett Goebel '08 - (Villa Park) Inducted for his exceptional athletic ability as a student athlete in the Montini Catholic Football and Wrestling programs and as a scholarship football player at Ohio State University who captained the 2012 undefeated Ohio State Football Team. Signed as a free agent with the St. Louis Rams in 2013.
Lieutenant Commander Anthony Joseph Guido, Jr. '03 - Inducted for being an outstanding student at Montini Catholic who received an appointment to the United States Coast Guard Academy, Anthony has displayed
exceptional leadership and loyalty and to his country as a decorated member of the United States Coast Guard.
Jaleel Johnson '12 - (West Chester) Inducted for his exceptional athletic ability as a student athlete in the Montini Catholic Football program, and as a scholarship football player at the University of Iowa, and a professional athlete with the Minnesota Vikings selected in the 4th round of the NFL draft in 2017.
Michala Johnson '10 - (Forest Park) Inducted for her exceptional athletic ability as a student athlete in the Montini Catholic Basketball program and as a scholarship athlete at the Universities of Connecticut and Wisconsin. She was selected by the New York Liberty in the 2014 WNBA draft, Michala played professionally with the St. Louis Surge in the WNBA and in Europe.
Michael John Tellone '71 - (Winfield) Inducted for his exceptional dedication and leadership to the community throughout his 25+ years of service to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office and for his contributions and volunteer service to the Montini Catholic school community.
Jordan Westerkamp '12 - (Glen Ellyn) Inducted for being one of the most decorated student athletes in the history of Montini Catholic's Football program. Jordan exhibited exceptional athletic ability as a football player at Montini Catholic and as a scholarship football player at the University of Nebraska. He signed as a free agent with the Miami Dolphins in 2017 and with the Toronto Argonauts in 2018.
Jay Williams '76 - (Villa Park) Inducted for his exceptional accomplishments as a Montini Catholic student athlete, and leadership as an attorney with Schiff Hardin LLC, and for his selfless contributions to Montini Catholic through his active participation in the Montini Catholic school community.
The Montini Catholic Alumni Hall of Fame was established to recognize graduates that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in one of the following areas:
• Academic ability exhibited while at Montini Catholic, in college, or their chosen profession.
• Athletic ability exhibited while at Montini Catholic, in college, or their chosen profession.
• Leadership exhibited while at Montini Catholic, in college, or their chosen profession.
• Positive impact for Montini Catholic through leadership shown in the businesss, professional or civic community.
• Contribution to Montini Catholic through continual active participation and engagement in school and alumni projects and events.
Any Montini Catholic graduate can be nominated for the Hall of Fame based on the criteria above. A committee of 21 vote for their selection from the nominees. Nominees must receive 70% of the vote to be selected as an inductee to the Hall of Fame.
